Silk Flower Tutorial

Since it is getting close to Easter we thought we would show you how to make a really cute, super easy flower. This flower could be used in several different ways,(hair, shirt, bag etc.)

Items needed:

Silk fabric
Needle/thread
Candle
Water
Tweezers
Clip
Matching ribbon
Hot glue gun

First cut several different sized circles. I used five but you can use more or less depending on how big you want your flower.

Next hold fabric circles with tweezers and hold over candle flame until edges curl upward, then rotate around the circle (I find it easier to use a cigarette lighter but we wanted to show you a safer way). You do not need to hold in the flame, just over it. Make sure you have your water nearby in case fabric ignites.

Next layer circles on top of each other and sew together with needle and thread.

Then add embellishment to center of the flower.

Cover clip with ribbon using a hot glue gun. Then attach flower to clip with hot glue gun. Now enjoy!
